”We need new packaging! And needs to be ready in 8 weeks.” (Gasp.)
Redesigning for retail brought all kinds of questions: How do we stand out on shelves? How do we create brand continuity? How to show the formula benefits through the design? How do we keep it within budget? How do we create product differentiation? Is the retail client different from the DTC? And many more.
More than a year’s worth of work was executed in a matter of months with an approval chain that included stakeholders from our company and at Target. The launch went live in digital and in stores in April 2020.

"Make them look yummy!"
Redesigning for retail also meant having the information be compliant with dietary supplements FDA regulatory rules. Beyond the standing out on the shelf, it meant help the consumer make an informed decision with new copy and naming and the "yummy" fruity colors from the actual ingredients. It was also the introduction of the new branding hims & hers as one.
